• January 2005 - Gran Tierra Energy Inc. incorporated in Alberta, Canada.
• May 2005 - Gran Tierra Energy’s  management team is installed.
• September 2005 - Acquisition of producing and non-producing properties in Argentina.
• November 2005 - Reverse acquisition of Goldstrike Inc. - incorporated in Nevada in June 2003 and trading on the NASD OTC Bulletin Board. Concurrent spin-off of the former assets of Goldstrike, installation of the management and Board of Directors and adoption of the business plan of the former Gran Tierra Energy,  and change of name from Goldstrike Inc. to Gran Tierra Energy Inc.
• June 2006 - Acquisition of Argosy Energy International in Colombia, completion of acquisition/farm-in agreement in Argentina.
• November/December 2006 - Acquisition of interests of Compania General de Combustibles (CGC) in Argentina, addition of two exploration licenses in Peru.
• 2007 - Award of two new Technical Evaluation Areas in Colombia to Gran Tierra Energy.
