Gran Tierra is ISO 14001:2015 certified in Colombia (2018) and in Ecuador (2026), establishing a common structure for managing its environmental performance. This certification is an international standard that specifies requirements for effective environmental management systems and has been granted to all of the Company’s operations and activities in South America.
The scope determined by Gran Tierra Energy for the Environmental Management System under the ISO 14001 standard includes hydrocarbon exploration, production, treatment, transportation, distribution, sales and marketing activities. The Company has also defined that all of the requirements for this standard are applicable to its Environmental Management System.
Every three years, GTE recertifies its compliance and uses the certification process as a comprehensive framework to manage and continuously improve its environmental performance, efficiency, sustainability practices, risk management, and legal and regulatory compliance.
Gran Tierra undergoes this certification for its operations in order to continue to implement the highest standards for its Environmental Management. The ISO management system is led by the Vice President of Corporate Responsibility and HSE, and this position reports directly to the CEO.
