Prestigious Camina Award, Honouring Champions for Peace
At Gran Tierra Energy, our commitment extends beyond our operations; it reflects our commitment to safety, inclusivity and lasting peace. GTE has partnered with the Embassies of Belgium and Canada, and the Colombian Campaign Against Landmines to sponsor the annual Camina award for the past six years.
This award ceremony recognizes the work of local organizations that help victims and survivors of antipersonnel mines in Colombia through activities and projects focused on the empowerment, promotion and protection of rights.
Past winners include the Association of Veteran Survivors of the Armed Conflict of Cauca, who were recognized in the “Path of Peace,” category for helping disabled military veterans rebuild their lives.
GTE’s role in this award reflects its ongoing commitment to demining in Putumayo, where it works with its partners to clear landmines and help people regain safety and freedom of movement.
ISO 14001 Certification
Gran Tierra is ISO 14001:2015 certified in Colombia (2018) and in Ecuador (2026), establishing a common structure for managing its environmental performance. This certification is an international standard that specifies requirements for effective environmental management systems and has been granted to all of the Company’s operations and activities in South America.
The scope determined by Gran Tierra Energy for the Environmental Management System under the ISO 14001 standard includes hydrocarbon exploration, production, treatment, transportation, distribution, sales and marketing activities. The Company has also defined that all of the requirements for this standard are applicable to its Environmental Management System.
Every three years, GTE recertifies its compliance and uses the certification process as a comprehensive framework to manage and continuously improve its environmental performance, efficiency, sustainability practices, risk management, and legal and regulatory compliance.
Gran Tierra undergoes this certification for its operations in order to continue to implement the highest standards for its Environmental Management. The ISO management system is led by the Vice President of Corporate Responsibility and HSE, and this position reports directly to the CEO.
Gran Tierra’s ISO 14001 certification demonstrates the Company’s continued commitment to building a record of success in its host countries in a transparent, safe and environmentally responsible way.
